Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring a friend/spouse/partner/child to accompany me on the trip?
Anyone over 17 years old may join you on this trip. If you bring a minor (17yrs+), please make sure to check the local laws to see what they are regarding drinking, etc.

Everyone joining Art Immersion - Amsterdam must sign a liability waiver. I will email them to all registrants in March. They'll need to be signed and emailed or snail-mailed back to me before we depart.

There will be times when your travel companions will not be able to join the core group of artists. Some of these included classes, lectures, museum library visit, artist studio visits and time creating artwork assignments. These will be indicated in the itinerary as we get closer to the trip. It is advisable that your travel companions have an alternative plan for these times with a meet-up time planned ahead of time so you can keep in touch. Please note that as an immersive experience, sometimes time will get away from us and you may end up staying later than initially planned.

Museum fees and travel fees will not be covered for your travel companion. They will need to purchase their own entry fees outside fo the group.

For those going to the Six Collection, they will not be able to bring anyone to accompany them. This is a strict headcount and is intended for core artists within the group.
Where can I buy airline tickets and book a room?
There is a section "recommendations" on this website that has this type of information. Prices vary and you can also chat with other artists signed up to go on this journey on the Facebook Group "Art Immersion Amsterdam".
How do I get around in Amsterdam on public transportation?
Public transportation in Amsterdam is plentiful. Aside for some free travel days included in our IAmsterdam museum cards, you can purchase a transportation card at the airport when you arrive. These cards can be added to using credit or debit cards as you travel. Here is a website with further details: https://www.ns.nl/en/travel-information/traveling-with-the-ov-chipkaart
What happens if I'm injured or have health problems during our trip?
Sadly, sickness and accidents do happen. I will try my best to help assist you to the nearest medical facility and reach your emergency contact. Please check to see if your insurance policy covers you when you are overseas. If not, I highly recommend purchasing a travel insurance plan. Oftentimes, they can be purchased when you book your flight for an additional cost.  If you take medications, please make sure to notify your doctors and pharmacy that you will be out of the country and get your prescriptions filled in plenty of time prior to our departure.
